
On November 4, the first Dutch OpenFOAM users day will take place in Delft, the Netherlands. This day will also be the start of the Dutch OpenFOAM users group.
OpenFOAM is an open source package that is becoming more and more accepted as a serious alternative to commercial CFD packages. Not only because OpenFOAM is free, but also because it allows complex models to be programmed directly. A large, international user community is constantly adding all kinds of functionality, from which other users can benefit.
There is also a growing interest in OpenFOAM in the Netherlands. An execellent moment to get together many of the Dutch OpenFOAM users, both from commercial companies and from universities and research institutes. The intention is that the participants will learn about the experience and expertise of others and establish useful relationships. The Duth OpenFOAM users group, that will start with this meeting, serves to give the exchange of knowledge a permanent character.
