Successful masterclass scientific software engineering

The master class 'Scientific Software Engineering' was held in Delft on June 9, 2011. The master class was organised by VORtech in cooperation with the Delft Centre for Computational Science and Engineering of Delft University of Technology.

In a single day the participants were introduced to procedures that help manage the algoritmic complexity of numerical software. These procedures relate to version management, coding style, documentation, sensitivity of results and debugging.

The reactions from the participants were positive or even downright enthousiastic. The subjects that were discussed were judged to be very relevant. And although the number of subjects was quite substantial, the pace was not too high or too slow for most of the participants .

A brief report with photo's from the masterclass can be found here.

Given the positive feedback and the fact that this masterclass was quickly overbooked, a rerun is scheduled for this autumn. Check out the VORtech website for more information.
