Research institute SARA and infrastructure service provider BiG Grid have created a cloud infrastructure for high performance computing (HPC). It is intended for tests in various research fields. The cloud is offered as a service in the BiG Grid infrastructure. This infrastructure is used for experiments with the Lofar-telescope and in the life sciences and nuclear sciences. The new environment has been opened on October 4, 2011.
