VORtech\Actiflow's Helpdesk for OpenFOAMŪ

OpenFOAM, produced and released by the Britisch company OpenCFD, is quickly gaining acceptance as a free and viable alternative to expensive commercial CFD packages. It has considerable advantages in comparison to commercial alternatives, making it attractive to a large number of companies. The growing popularity of OpenFOAM leads to an increased demand for fast and efficient support. The new Dutch Service Desk for OpenFOAM, organized by VORtech and Actiflow, offers such support right around the corner.

What is OpenFOAM?

OpenFOAM is usually seen as a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) package, but it can actually solve any continuum mechanics problem. Admittedly, CFD is one of these, but there are other applications as well.

OpenFOAM was released as Open Source in 2004. This means that everyone can inspect the code and modify it according to his own needs. On top of that, it is completely free. The developers of OpenFOAM make their money by providing services around the package (like programming extensions). Obviously, OpenFOAM does not only have advantages with respect to its commercial competitors. The most important is probably that it requires relatively much effort to (learn to) work with it. Various service providers can help you with that. One of these is VORtech together with her partner Actiflow.

VORtech\Actiflow's helpdesk for OpenFOAM

Together with her partner Actiflow, VORtech has set up a helpdesk for Dutch OpenFOAM users. In this service, we combine our own knowledge of scientific engineering with Actiflow's CFD modeling knowledge.

The helpdesk offers first and second line support, consultancy, development and modeling assistance.

Complete information about this service can be found at www.cfddesk.nl. But you can also contact us directly for more information.
